Hey, I’m Anna!
If you walked up to my hunter green front door you wouldn't find anything fancy or filtered. I’d likely have a kid on my hip while opening the door with one hand and simultaneously pushing my leg out to make sure our 4 year old forever pup Whinnie doesn’t run out the door. You’d walk past the sign, “You belong here, welcome home,” and I’d pray you’d feel those words in tangible form as you meandered into my kitchen and I poured you a cup of piping hot coffee and stirred in the cream.
I am raising 5 kiddos with my high school crush turned husband on the shores of Lake Superior. My journey with Jesus hasn’t been fancy or tied up with a bow. But I’ve found him right where He promises- in hospital rooms, among the snack crumbs in my dining room, and as I scrape stubborn dinner off the pan before bed. His love has truly moved into the neighborhood and into our home. It has changed us. It has offered us hope amidst heartache, peace amidst panic, and joy when grief threatened to swallow us whole.
What makes my heart race faster? Seeing women experience his grace and delight in the messy and delightful seemingly ordinary days. Seeing moms realize the ministry that is sitting around their kitchen islands. And seeing communities of friends link arms and run, limp, and carry each other toward the Father.
You won’t find pretension here. We have too many kids for that :)
But I do pray that you find hope anchored in the truth of Gods goodness. May our lives be a light up arrow pointing you to the cross.
